Research Mandate of the Institute of Biomedical Research (IBR)

The Institute of Biomedical Research (IBR) is a professional wing for biomedical researchers at the Kampala International University (KIU) Western Campus in Ishaka. It aims to promote and develop the role of biomedical research within the Health Care and Safety Sector. In addition, it seeks to provide leadership that inspires both students and academics wanting to develop their research in a collaborative environment and is committed to providing scientific support for the intensive, high–added–value biotechnological and biomedical industries.

The IBR seeks to positively impact the long-term development of science and is currently in the education and training of graduate students and faculty members, but also focuses on the local community. The scientific community is professionals who are capable of critical analysis of societal problems and working to improve the standard of living through research. It also wishes to support the local scientist at all stages to carry out their research in Ishaka.
